Yes that’s true. This economic downturn will leave a scar on the US economy and it will be a protracted healing process.
I never really thought about the whole idea of the world degrading back to the stone age: When people lack sufficient income they will be unable to afford even the basic necessities of life which is food, clothing and shelter. And if they are unable to afford it the only solution is to live like cave men i.e build your own houses and find your own raw and water.
